Summary:
Our client specializes in heat and surface treatments as well as polymer coatings and they are currently looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their Lansing team. The person in this role will be responsible for the overall operational reliability of the equipment and will aid in the planning of repairs and rebuilds.
Requirements:
- Act as and take responsibility for various pieces of equipment, Preventive and Predictive maintenance and down day planning.
- Inspect adjust, clean, and/or lubricate equipment as normal part of preventive maintenance.
- Perform a wide range and variety of maintenance and repair operations necessary to keep plant equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition.
- Plan and schedule equipment maintenance and repair activities to minimize disruption to plant production and material handling activities.
- Maintain plant inventory levels for maintenance parts and supplies.
- Maintain plant equipment and maintenance records to meet the company’s and OSHA’s safety, environmental and quality compliance standards.
- Diagnose causes of malfunctions of plant equipment, machinery or processes and determine corrective action to include seeking vendor assistance.
- Utilize blueprints, schematics, diagrams and equipment manuals to tear down, replace, repair, install, and assemble equipment, parts, components, and accessories.
- Adjust machine mechanisms such as feed, speed, power input or output.
Qualifications:
- A general knowledge of electronics and electrical systems is preferred to perform basic repairs as needed or directed.
- Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, controls, electricity, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related tools and equipment
- Experience working with power transmission equipment ie motors, speed reducers, v-belt and sheave drive systems, roller chain and sprocket drive systems
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientated.
- Must be self-disciplined, organized, have excellent planning skills and a team player
- High School Diploma/GED required. College related coursework or equivalent formal technical training preferred.
- Minimum of two (2) to (3) years of experience in troubleshooting and repair of mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electro-mechanical systems.
- Fork lift and crane certification a plus
